Kookaburra Ultralite Lithium LB

Composition:
-95% carbon
-5% fibreglass

Weight:
-526g

Bend:
-25mm.Optimun point 250mm up the stick

Design:
-When I saw the pictures of this stick on the internet, it looked like a matte finish on the stick, but the stick is actually finished off with a nice, shiny finish. It´s black with the words surrounded by yellow and the emblem of Kookaburra in yellow too.

Hitting:
-Hitting was one of the only things that made me slightly apprehensive about buying this stick, scientifically proving that a light stick will have less power output I was again pleasantly surprised as I was able to generate lots of power from the hits. The high carbon content of the stick clearly gives a good power output aiding the hitting ability of this stick.

Dribbling:
-I had read that dribbling would be easier with a superlight stick and funnily enough, I can dribble almost twice as fast and with more control, the skill zone allows you to keep hold of the ball for longer and also helps when doing push passes, it meets the FIH rules as the indent is only 4mm.Those who are used to quite a low carbon content may have to adjust slightly to the rebound of the stick,  however it can be used effectively to receive on the move and all it takes to stop the ball dead when receiving a very hard pass is just a slightly more cushioning technique.

Flicking:
-The Ultralite lithium has an extreme Low-Bow which helps drag flicking and aerials. The reduced weight of the stick has given me more manoeuvrability throughout the drag flick and this has allowed me to improve the consistency and accuracy of my high drag flicks as it is easier to lift the stick and the ball.Aerial distance also increases as the combination of the concave in the face, the Low-Bow (which both allow you to get under the ball even more), increased stick speed due to the stick being lighter and of course good technique come together.

Conclusion:
-If you are looking for a lighter stick that has still has good hitting power, dragflicking potential and nice long lasting graphics, then buy this stick, it is a step in the right direction for hockey stick technology, and unlike some of the very expensive top of the range sticks, this stick main feature is not a gimmick.
